Blogs are full of words, or full of ads and yeah this one have ads too… but what you are missing there are lovely pictures. Yeah, your blog is pretty boring if you don’t have pictures or video in it. Personally, I often visit the blogs that have very live content and media is what gives life to the content.

Why I think you should add Media in blog post

1) If you add a picture in your blog post, It will attarct your users. Trust me, if the picture is good then your user will definately come. For example, if I release a free template without a preview image, not many people will download it, but if i put the preview image for my free template, the download will suddenly increase, and this is proven from experience.

2) Picture describe thousand words. Is that enough for you? NO? well let me explain. If you see when I wrote about Wordpress 2.5 I could’ve taken the route of words and start describing how the dashboard looks, and how the category interface looks, or I can just post couple images and It will be much more easy to comprehend for the users.

3) If you have good pictures such as my free icons post generated alot of traffic, and I noticed that alot of people were entering through that post from search engines, and looking at my other posts as well. Now I dont know if pictures were the reason, but It definately grabbed the users attention and caused them to look at my other posts which makes them a factor.

Alright well, I was informed by a cousin of mine about this freebie. By the way, He is also responsible for my success in this industry because 5 years ago, he was the person who pulled me into designing if it hasn’t for him I would still be running around like rest of the teenagers.

Now I haven’t register a domain yet from them so can’t review the service, and I will probably not register any either because I already have too many sitting in my account and if I register another one, it will just go to waste, so I will let this offer be useful to those who are really interested.

Well as we know that Wordpress is the best blogging software on the World Wide Web (Hands Down). They are making a big update with the software pretty soon. Right now the current stable version of the software is 2.3.3, and the new version will be 2.5. Yes that is a big jump in the wordpress count because the last one before 2.3.3 was 2.3.2 and 2.3.1 so we can agree that there will be alot of updates. The beta version is out already and I am using it on Balkhis.

Well you don’t have to just wonder what it is going to be like because the people at wordpress has posted the Sneak Peak of 2.5. The new wordpress will have:

- New backend design.
- Faster load times.
- Multi-file uploads.
- New “Media Manager” for images, audio, video, etc.
- Built-in gallery function.
- Built-in (and pluggable) Gravatars support.
- One-click auto-update for plugins.

And much more…….

My favorite part about this new update is definately the one click auto-update for plugins. This will make my life so much easier rather than downloading / reuploading each plugin when the update comes out. Ofcourse aside from this the design is much better looking.

Alright, now this is not an adsense ready template. I designed Zainu for those who want a corporate style look for their website. Zainu is being released on behalf of Balkhis Inc. and the designing credentials goes to Uzzz Productions. This is available for both wordpress and phpLD 3.3, so bloggers can use it just for blogs, and directory owners can use it for directories and have a matching blog.

As promised in my last post, I will now teach you guys how to actually rank for the long-tailed keywords using wordpress. As we all know that Google actually looks at the url for the keyword as well as the page-title. So it is very possible that the site with the url that has the keyword will rank higher.

Now having that said you definately need to get your blogs url to show keywords in it to rank high and pick up some good long-tail keywords.

By Default your wordpress blog comes with

< http://example.com/?p=N > This sort of structure where N is the number specified to the item in mysql. This is completely non-seo friendly because it is not static. Whatever you do you need to get rid of this one.

/%category%/%postname%/

Balkhis is running on the above permalink structure. What does that do? Well for instance when i posted about the Ultimate Promotion Technique the url was something like this

www.balkhis.com/advertising/ultimate-promotion-technique/

It have the category name and the post title. Which resutled me to rank first for the keyword in google.

Now this is just one way to get SEO Friendly Permanlink structure in wordpress and my favorite way by the way.
