Well as many of you know I was on a vacation for Spring Break. Today is the last day, so I thought i should share how productive my vacation was. Yeah I was very busy.

I arrived to West Palm Beach on Sunday around 9 p.m EST, so there wasn’t much left to do, so I relaxed.

Monday, I took my car for service (Oil Change, Tire rotation, alignment etc)

This was a big hassle, because according to my salesman any Maroone Honda should honor the certificate (the first service for car was free), but I drove down to the closest dealer which was 40 miles away, and they said they will not honor the certificate, and I would have to go to the original dealer. So i had to drive 29 more miles down south to Miami to get my service done. That was a pain. (Later on the week I got a call for their survey … Boy did i leave a good survey lol)

Tuesday was fairly busy as well. I had alot of family stuff going on, and I was invited to a dinner in the night, so this day past very quickly.

Wednesday, I planned out the meeting with MAQ Group, and I was invited to a dinner at another place.

Thursday, I had a meeting with MAQ Group (Cricket Council USA). I am a big time cricket fan, and I also used to play in Florida Cricket League. For the first time in history, In United States there will be a T’20 International Tournament is being held on May 23, 24, and 25th. Well because I used to play cricket in the league, and the sponsor of my team Mr. MAQ is also the sponsor of this tournament therefore I have a VIP pass It shall be fun to see all the int’l players from Pakistan, India, West Indies and World XI.

I went to their office, and they had me take some pictures with their cap on, and with their banners. They also gave me official MAQ Gold Cricket Ball which was a nice gift. Hopefully their crew will forward me the pictures, so I can post it here otherwise I have the cap and the ball which I can wear for Mega Wednesday or Tip Sunday.

Friday was a bit easy, and I went to movies.

Saturday, I went to the beach. There wasn’t that high waves, but I went about 90 – 120 Yds far. It was to a point that I couldn’t stand on my feet, so I came back. I also got my taxes done through my CPA. I ended up owing a chunk of money to IRS looks like I made too much money. I will share some of my techniques with you guys, so It helps you for the future.

Today is Sunday, and I should be packing to go back up north to Gainesville.

Sorry guys I am not very active on the blog because I am away, but I am trying to do my one post a day promise. In this post i will be talking about the use of advertising banners, and how some of them are trying this technique that is grabbing attention of the users.

Noticing this now a days, it is happening more and more that the banners contain female models in the lesser clothes. One of my main reasons for stop displaying Shopping Ads… even though it was getting clicks, but it was making my site look very cheap because i had those ads displayed below every post, and all I see was a women in their bakini watching TV and it was a Online TV Advertising.

Now believe it or not fellas, that does get alot of attention. If you put a Girl’s picture in the banner rather than a guy’s picture you are tend to get more results because it is proven by Psychology that both men and women like feminine style faces. Now do you need the indecent exposure?? I dont want it for me, neither do I need it, but some people say it is necessary as it grabs attention.

But there are other creative ways to get attention as well.

I remember aviva directory used to have one which said Most users can’t even find their own ass, how are they going to find your website, list them in aviva and help them find your website.

My question to you guys is do you think it really makes the ad attractive it have a hot girl standing half naked?

Link Relations are the rel tags that are added into the html tag and many SEO Experts prefer rel=”nofollow” for every link on the website. But why ?? I don’t think that is a good choice to nofollow every link on your website. Matt of Wordpress have these rel tags in wordpress for a reason, and that one reason is what gives wordpress its superior edge in SEO.

Using these rel tags effectively can make your website very organized in the eyes of Search Engine Bots, and I believe that you can eliminate the risk of Paid Links as well. Well I am hoping that all of you know what it means when some one adds a rel=”nofollow” tag in a link. If you don’t then here is what it means. It means that the bot will not follow the site that is listed there, so all that link is going to do is pure exposure on that website nothing else. Your page does not loose any Page Rank Juice or Link juice. But do you really want that?? I don’t and there are multiple reasons for that.

First it makes you look cheap. Why no follow a link ? I mean if you want to put a website’s link on your site then give them a real link, or don’t put their link. Second it just looks like spamming every link with a nofollow tag. Instead you can use these different tags….

Why is the title of this post so obscure. Thats because you will remember this title if you read it. When we are writing posts on our blog, the title can be anything. But whether it is a good title? You need to learn the tactic of attracting users to read the blog post just by reading your post title. Having said that, I have established the point that a Good title is an essential element for the blog post.

A blog which is being operated/managed by my girlfriend Amanda M. Roberts, Word Scrawl has done some amazing jobs with the title of their blog posts. I have the access to the blog’s traffic and such and I analyzed it and see each thing that was done for the blog, and I thought I should share some insights of the blog to give you guys some techniques.

Controversial Titles

A post written by Ms. Roberts called “The Dumbest Generation“. The title itself is so controversial that it started getting attention when she submitted the post to stumbleupon. For the next 7 – 10 days the traffic got 6000 UV increase daily. That sent a crazy buzzz because I was worried about adsense because they can have some serious problems with it. Not only that if you notice the post got alot of comments. 38 !!! That is a whole lot for a new blog. Now this can be something you can take and learn from. Using social bookmarks (Best one Stumbleupon), and taking the controversial title of your blog post, you can significantly increase your traffic, and subscribers because Word Scrawl saw an increase in the subscribers.

Staying a step ahead in business is always a good thing because it will make sure everything is done on time. As a blogger I take this as a serious thing because I want to write atleast one blog post a day a minimum. Now, Spring Break at my university started, so I decided to take a trip down south to West Palm Beach to meet family. I knew i won’t be able to work very hard on the blog, but one thing i did ahead of time was wrote and saved articles, so i won’t hold my readers off.

This post is about how you can stay on top of your game. Stay a step ahead. All what you have to do as a blogger is plan everything you do ahead of time. So if you are launching a contest, make sure you have the prizes planned out, and what you want in it organized. It just makes your life easy.

For instance, some family emergency came along, while it is understandable for you to leave the blog and take care of the family, but if you had written extra posts, then you wouldn’t have an inactive blog. This sunday, When I left for my other job in the morning, I knew i won’t be able to post my second post, so i saved it and asked my acquaintence to post it. Also i have saved the entire week’s posts ahead of time just so Balkhis doesn’t seem inactive when I am away.

If anyone is interested in sending guest blog posts, feel free to email me with the content and it must fit one of the categories of the blog, and I will definately consider it.
