As you know that Balkhis Market Leverage contest is coming along and it will end on June 18th 2008. I want to give the users as many opportunities as I can to earn points. Well my quest to put out ways to earn points lead me to the Balkhis ML Contest Clue #5.

In this clue you will be joining my community at Mybloglog. Basically join mybloglog if you are not already a member. Go to my community and hit join. That way the next time you visit my site, your picture or avatar will be shown in the recent viewers. By doing so will get you an opportunity to earn 3 points toward your final score. If you are already a member of my community then you get 3 points also only if you let me know your username in this post.

Well you might be wondering why I am suggesting you guys to join mybloglog. Well mybloglog is a way to expose your blog to a larger audience. Join the sites that you like, and you can get to know the other people. Also you can subscribe to their feeds. You can also use it to display recent viewers on your site like Balkhis have on the top right corner.

Wordpress is such a cool blogging platform that I can’t emphasize it more. People who are not using it are missing out on alot of the functions it can do. The function I am about to discuss is a very simple one, but I think people who are just getting into this industry will find this helpful. In this post I will show you a way to schedule your posts on wordpress, so you can always stay consistent with publishing your post, and your users will know a specific time to be prepared to read your blog. So you will always be on time.

This feature helps me alot as I am travelling more and more now days. I can just schedule the post and wordpress will post it. Since I was using this feature alot, I thought to myself did I write it on my blog, so now here you go.

First you would need to login to your admin panel

Write your Post

Before hitting publish, right above that button there is a text which reads Publish Immediately with Edit as hyperlink.

Click Edit and Enter the date and time. (Use Military time which means add 12 to every thing after 12p.m) So if it is 8:46 p.m that you want to put your post, you will type 20:46. (Military Time Guide) Use the Military guide if you need more help.

Once you have entered the time and date, then hit publish. The wordpress script will schedule the post for that time.

Why does it matter? Well because you give your users a certain time so they can read the latest news.

You know there is a reason why news paper comes out in the morning every day. People actually wait for their morning paper eagerly. Some people actually wait to read your blog eagerly. By doing this you can give those users a time to expect a new post. I have tried multiple times, and 7:30a.m EST worked out very good for me.

Well now you know how to schedule your posts on wordpress.

Giving back to the community is always nice. Specially if you are donating for a good cause like fighting cancer. Well as the Balkhis Market Leverage Contest is going, I would like to add another clue which helps the community, our industry, and allows you to gain points.

I am back with the Clue #3 for Balkhis Market Leverage Contest.
