Power of Advertising Your Posts Individually with Social Media
Power of advertising your posts individually is often underestimated. I will say this is probably the best way to get more followers to your blog. Almost all followers that you get from advertising your posts individually will stay.
Many bloggers don’t know the right process of how blogs should be advertised. Its not a blatant statement I am making, I came to this conclusion after receiving many direct messages on twitter from people when I follow a them: Check out my blog – http://xxxx.com. I would never check out their blog because they didn’t give me a reason to do so. Instead what you should do is maybe sent a direct message of an individual post which might be useful to that person. And hope that the quality of your content persuades this person to explore more content on your blog and become a loyal user.
During the years that I have been working online, I learn that you can never get loyal users by simply advertising your home page specially when working with Discussion Forums, and Social Media Networks. If used effectively, both of them can bring you insane amount of loyal users for free. But you need to know how to do it the right way.
It might seem like that there is a connection with all top power diggers on digg, or all top users on twitter, but really there is not. They will digg or retweet your post, if it is worthy of it. So making that statement clear, I am telling you that you should not advertise all of your posts individually because not all of them are worthy.
The same way you should not put digg submit buttons, or reddit submit buttons on every article of yours. It hurts your site more than anything because not all your articles are digg worthy. And if your site is submitted on digg specially with an article like Attention Users there will be no post on Balkhis… Then you will probably get banned from social media networks. So refrain from abusing the system.
Now here is how you should do it. Lets take Twitter for example.
You should not just tweet your own articles. Tweet what you think your followers will like. Bring variety to the table. Its all about sharing the love in order to get it back. Contribute to the community and then community will appreciate you and will send its love to you.
So on average if you are tweeting 5 of your own links then tweet 10 of other people links. Now those could be the links that your friend tweeted, or asked you to retweet via DM or others that you found on the web.
Now when other sees that you are sharing useful information, they will begin to retweet your tweets, and next thing you know that your own site is being retweeted by others as well. Now if you simply put check out my site www.wpbeginner.com, most people won’t click it, but if you put check out 21 Mindblowing Premium-Like Free WordPress Themes then more people are likely to see that article and your website indirectly.
This is killing three birds with one stone. Because you got the user to your website, you advertised the article, indirectly they saw your website as well, and now they are your loyal reader because they liked the article. So quality is a must.
Now when you are in social media networks, it is about making new friends. You can ask the friends to check out this link, and retweet it through a direct message. This way their followers can retweet as well. You can do the same with digg, facebook, and any other social media network.
What I am trying to say is don’t just stop after publishing your post. Instead you should go out and share it with others.

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

Very sound advise. Thanks.
Great tip. When I was just getting started I was like what you mentioned. Just advertising my index page. of course I easily realized no one is going to care about it and since then I refrained from just doing that.
I definitely agree that it is easier to attract people to a specific post instead of your homepage. Another advantage of this strategy is that you can get your internal pages ranked for long tail keywords.
Nice Post and thanks for sharing the good info with us
Yes, definitely a great advantage for long tail keywords. I think that is an underrated strategy, and using social media to capitalize on it sounds like a great way to boost traffic even further.
Totally agree!
Having a killer and an attractive title alone can do the trick for you. You will have visitors getting attracted to such a title; but is of no use if the content on the page is not up to the standards…
The point still is that irrespective of what you do on your blog, you have to promote it using all possible tools.
So would you recommend removing the Social Booking Marking wordpress plugin on a blog?
Thanks,
Jean
You make a very valid point.
Great post Balkhis. Everyone should understand that social media is a game where you can expect results only if you share(give) something valuable to the community.
Very well written Balkhis. Social media has become the best way on the Internet these days to acquire traffic. However, you should be able to use it in an appropriate manner. Thanks to tips as you’ve shared, people would be able to monetize their websites or blogs much easily…
As we say the advertising is any paid form of nonpersonal presentation of ideas, goods, services through an identified sponsers.
Nice Post and thanks for sharing the good info with us
Great post. Really enjoyed how you showed that many bloggers don’t know the right process of how blogs should be advertised.
nice post, I like the idea!
I twitter writing the title of the article and then link to it, it is much better than just ask to visit my blog.
So should you submit your every blog post to social media websites? Or only the best ones?
You are right Balkhi. Social Media is really helpful for individual advertisement. We get lots of benefits from it. Those bloggers and webmasters need to read your post. Thanks. Make Quick Cash John.
Balkhi, great advice… It’s so true that you have to give people a reason to click on a link. They’re not going to waste their own time to check something out just because someone else told them to.
With that said, do you have any advice on how to gain more Twitter followers? I’ve tried to submit to Twitter directories and follow people, but mostly it’s just spam accounts that follow (that eventually get deleted).
Really good post buddy. Submitting post to social media always helps to get good number of visitors on your blog and with slow movement to start will you will become popular in long run.
Thanks for the article Syed. I completely agree that posting each one of your articles to social bookmarking sites is the way t go, although time consuming. Some people use auto submitters, but I have also heard most don’t work right.
This is great advice, its always good to share the knowledge and not just tweet about your links. If you tweet other people’s posts than theres a chance your post will get tweeted also by others
Building real relationships with your followers, I think, is key. Have real conversations with them on what they tweet, what their concerns are, and you won’t have trouble advertising your thoughts to them as well. If you have something useful, its okay to share – its not spamming.
i have a good point with this post. Individual advertaising helps a lot to the blog traffic.
I definitely agree that many sites concentrate too much on promoting their homepage. They don’t realize that they can do much better by sending people to a specific page instead. Building links to inner pages is also great for seo.
I think that is an underrated strategy, and using social media to capitalize on it sounds like a great way to boost traffic even further. you had a nice point in your post, many thanks….
I agree with this post, nice tip.
I am very much concern with this post. Good idea thanks of it.
Good point about tweeting about anything your followers will like.
When I use twitter to advertise my future site, I’ll remember that.
I agree just sending your link to someone and hoping they will come check it out is the wrong approach. And I also agree that people that come from social networking sites DO end up sticking around.
I agree with you, great post!
Join an advertising network. Advertising networks are organizations that aggregate Web sites that offer advertising space, and sell banner ads (and other advertising options) across them.
Affiliate Programs – you sell other people’s products that your audience may be interested in; and you get a certain commission after the desired action was done (whether a sale, a lead, subscription to email newsletter, or however this is defined)…
Well, I guess I have to start retweeting other peoples’ posts as well. I think I overlooked that part!
