Using Digg for your advantage

Digg is one of the nicer resource for blog in the market. What is digg? Basically a website which lets you submit an article or story which people can vote for (digg) and make it popular. I always thought about how to get my posts to get dugg by many users because i have a new blog. Even if i post a phenomenal topic, it won’t get noticed because i only have so many users. And NO, you cannot buy diggs because it is against the Terms of Service (TOS).

How you can use digg for advertising?

It is very simple. Just have an article, and submit it in digg if you think it is worthy. Now don’t go submit all of your articles because you can be banned. But you may submit the cool ones that you think other might want to know. This will get your site some exposure.

How to get more Diggs on your post?

I had a few people who became my fans, so i added them to my friend list. The count of my digg increased as now I can shout the news to more people. I said well let me add the friends of my friends. So I added the friends of my friends in my friend list gradually. Now I have 1002 friends. (Thats the limit) because if i try to add any more friends the error would pop up. Well, i still keep posting quality resources. You would notice alot of people won’t add you back as their friend instantly, but they will as time goes by and they see that you are doing a good job. It happened to me. Some of the people added me right back while others waited and see my posts, and then added me. From then on i gained more and more fans on the digg. Now i can’t just select shout to all because there are too many people who allow shout. Shout is another feature you can use to share your post. Trust me i get alot of those. My email is filled with about 50 – 70 emails from digg which other people shout let alone emails from latest fans added. That is one down side, but on the good side people will view your shout and digg your post. That is one of the popular way i found to increase the traffic of Balkhis, and that got me some subscribers also because i added my youtube / mybloglog profile link in my digg profile.

Now the bottom line is that each of my post is getting over 40 diggs which is kind of cool as Balkhis is relatively new right now, and i expect this number to grow as Balkhis gain more and more readers.
