I am really sorry to announce that Pimp My Blog will no longer be alive on Balkhis. I still haven’t got around to finishing Simon’s blog. I will get it done as soon as I can. There are several reasons why I have decided to kill this contest.

One thing was that people were fake subscribing. Which obviously means that my subscriber count was really high, but I would rather have loyal readers rather than readers that just subscribe towards the end of each month.

Second I was getting complaints about no more free designs. If you guys didn’t notice, I haven’t released a single free theme for a long time. I cannot make more than one free design during a month because of my busy schedule.

Third reason is that as the New Year is starting, there are some projects that I want to launch and Pimp My Blog will be taking my time away from that. So all to all Pimp My Blog is no more.

But you might be wondering what will be substituting that. I mean it might not be as good, but I will try to release more free themes. But the better reward is that I will be launching a Premium Theme Service. So I will be giving away one to three themes away each month to Balkhis users.

So do you want to know what else is planned for next year? You will see in my next post.

Simon has been an active reader on my site for a long time, and he was last month’s top commentator. I think he deserves the winner spot for September 2008.

Alright I know you all have been waiting for this one. Pimp My Blog August 2008 winner was indocontest. I was giving him time to upload the design, but apparently he hasn’t uploaded it. I am very upset with the way Pimp My Blog is going because the only site that is using the pimped theme is Vol Cars Blog. Last month’s winner still hasn’t uploaded the site.

So I think I will stop the random picks!!! Yes, it sounds fair to me because I don’t want to give this opportunity to those who will not use it. Because some people are undecided with what they want. Like last month’s winner had multiple mind sets change. So if you get pick remember, you only get one chance to explain. You cannot come later on and say you want an entirely different thing. The rules I will be changing for the future.

Next factor that will play is you need to explain to me why you need the pimped blog. So I will be strongly considering my top commentators for the pick now because I would rather reward my active users then the ones who just subscribe and never come back again. Trust me I will know with the email who is active and who is not. So Top Commentators will be a heavily focused.

This is going to be a relatively short post. I decided to draw for pimp my blog winner today right after work. So I have picked this month’s winner.

A short summary of Pimp my Blog is I pick one of my rss email subscribers randomly through the random generator and give them the opportunity to get a complete redesign of the blog. Note: That I don’t redesign new blogs, so it must be an already established blog. I just take your stuff what you have right now and make it look good. Some new add ons here and there but you get the idea of what I am saying right.

Anyways, if you didn’t get picked this month then you know what to do right. Since this is a never ending contest, subscribe to balkhis via email for next month. And you might get picked. Trick to get extra entries is be in the top commentators. So subscribe via email to Balkhis:

This month’s drawing was a hectic for all I can say, but we got through it and picked Abhijeet of Life is Colourful to be the winner. First winner was picked, and I give the winner 24 hours to reply back. Apparently my email went in the spam, so therefore the winner lost their chance (Tip to be learned: Whitelist @balkhis.com email addresses). I draw up another number and the person chose not to get the design. On the third pick, that I got Abhijeet who was excited about the design.

As of right now, the design is not live on the site as he is still modifying some what of it to make it work completely with his site.

But that doesn’t stop me from posting the video up.
