Alright it is time to say good bye to April, but what I am going to do in this post is collect the best posts that I found online that were posted in April 2008 which I think are useful/entertaining to my users. I am all for charity and have been to many of the charity events. While talking to a friend of mine Bruce, the owner of authority directory, we talked about charity events. He said he will be attending one to support the local school districts. I said take some pictures and send me and I will feature it on Balkhis. Guess who is he in the picture with. Entrecard, the new generation of Business Cards has been used by many of the professional bloggers, but I kind of stayed away for a bit. You can call it my lazyness and lack of interest. I was talking to one of my close friend on instant messenger, and the topic came up. I decided that I should just sign up. After signing up, I started dropping my card on all of my favorite blogs that are using the feature. I also put the codes on Balkhis. Today is the first day, I have had over 100 cards dropped at my site, and 5 ad purchases. Pretty darn sweet.

Well here is the deal, you drop cards on mine, and I will follow (will try to keep up with everyone). The button is located on the sidebar, right above the alexa button, and one more reason you should leave a card for me is I am surfing with an Alexa Toolbar on. So it will effect your alexa.

Why should bloggers use this feature? It increases your traffic enormously. Another thing it does, is brand your logo. I see so many people using the default style cards. People come on. Brand your logo so you can your brand out there on your business cards. Not your business card companies brand.

Alright everyone, I have decided to make a decision about which player I will be using on my website. So far I have been using default youtube’s player in all my past posts to post my videos, but I didn’t really liked it because of the ugly look of the player.

I have decided to move to Revver. Its not that I won’t keep my youtube channels updated. Ofcourse I will keep them updated for my youtube audience, but the player you will be seeing on my website would be Revver.

Revver is an ad sharing player, so they will pay you via paypal. Why I particularly like Revver is that it lets me brand the player. So now the player will say Balkhis rather than anything else. Player looks cool as it is very simple. Another good part is that the player comes in a script code which doesn’t make the site xhtml invalid whereas youtube used to make the site xhtml invalid. The only downside about this is that your video have to be approved so you can’t just post your video and put it live asap. It needs to be approved by their management. I can live with that.

I love the Dot Com life style. I work when I want to. I don’t have to go to a certain place to work. Just work from my apartment on my bed. Many people are like dude how do you make money. How do you get enough fun.

Well check what Balkhis as a site got me.

I bought an electric guitar and an amp from a part of my blog income. Isn’t that sweet. The only problem is I don’t know any cords except for 3 . But I will learn no worries. This helps me in two ways. When I have nothing to write about, and I am running out of ideas, I play the guitar. And when I am frustrated, I just put the volume on high and start doing a really angry solo (which means I just hit random strings) lol.

I got this a couple days ago, and finally since I have decided that I am not going to return it because I like it. Therefore I am posting it here. Maybe one day when I get good enough, I will put one of my videos on youtube
