As you know that Balkhis has been redesigned. Along with numerous additions to the new theme, there is one that stands out. That addition is adding the Peel Away to the page. I got multiple emails, questions on forums, direct messages on twitter asking me how did I add that. Well I am using a script called Peel Ad Software.

Before I put it on Balkhis, I tried it on separate page and see if everything worked fine so I can eventually review it on Balkhis. You have seen similar idea being used on multiple places such as Enkay Blog, John Chow, and now here on Balkhis as well.

There are many vendors that sell this sort of script. But I picked Peel Ad Software because I have known Lance for about 1.5 years now. The price of this script is relatively cheaper at $27 rather than some other places where it was $37.

Let me tell you how it works.

Note: *This script does require a MYSQL Database*

Its quite simple, you upload the file in your public_html directory. You follow the simple guide and install the software on your webhost. Then you paste a simple code in your header and you are good to go.

Yup thats right, no need to edit the codes or enter images manually. Everything is done via an admin panel.

As displayed in the image above, you just need to enter the image url, and the targetted url. This script also allows you to set the maximum views, if you are selling your ads through views. You can also set the click limit. So if you are selling 1000 clicks, then you can do that. You can put as many ads in rotation as you want. Just simply add them and keep it active. They will rotate.

This software actually comes in with sample images that you can use to make your own images. Like I have done so. It is very easy to install.

If I have to say what level should you be on to install this script on your website. I will say a beginner can easily do this job without any assistance.

Now this idea is still very new compared to alot of other ideas like sidebar buttons and more, so you will not see this type of ads on alot of websites. But the demand for these ads are high because they are at the very top. Some people find them annoying, but I think they are not annoying as long as the page have limited amount of ads.

I noticed that the site load time was not affected by this script. It might have increased a little bit but nothing significant.

If you are not a designer, then your best bet is to use one of the sample images that comes with it. Otherwise Uzzz Productions is available to design banners for you for peel away ads.

Direct ad sales are a significant source of income on some blogs, if you have one of those blogs, then this can be one of your option.

Another reason why you should get Peel Ad Software is if you want to advertise your own products. Perhaps like a contest or something. Rather than having it featured on the top of your blog like this site, you might as well get Peel Ad Software. Because it gets annoying to the new readers. Zain has been recieving gifts from companies. First one was Market Leverage, who sent him a Future Blogger shirt which he loves alot.

Zain has shown alot of interest in computers and making graphics. He loves to paint and run his remote control cars.

I was being asked by many when will my Future blogger start? Well this is the time. When he is 4. I have registered lifeofblogger.com. This blog will contain fun and embarassing moments of his life. The only real competition I see for his blog is Sallychow.com. But Lifeofblogger is already a step ahead because of the cool custom design that was done by Uzzz Productions.

Another reason why I started this blog was because I have family in many different countries who would like to keep up with Zain’s life. So this will be a way they can see him grow up. This is the way you can see a future blogger grow up. I am hoping that this blog stays live for about 10 years until he is completely sensible. Than he can do whatever he likes with it.

I have given him a head start. The blog will be updated periodically. With zain’s video. Right now the videos are being published by my sister, Sameen. I bought her a new laptop just because of that. Zain and her shares their new Vaio.

Lifeofblogger is still not entirely done, because I need to give Zain’s website it’s identity. Meaning Favicon. The blogs promotion needs to be started. Well it is being started with this post.

Angadsodhi is a regular reader on this blog, and I have been checking out his blog lately so therefore I have decided to review his blog because of the reader love on Balkhis.

Angad’s blog is a personal blog which is crowded with advertisement. I like the way he shares his information. Alot of the articles there are interesting because they are from various different sources. But there are several tips that I will be giving in this post to Angad.

Before I start with that, I want to say that the content on this site is very interesting. Posts on this blog are also being displayed in an orderly fashion. The design of the site is decent for a personal blog. You should get a better banner on the header for the empty ad spot. A banner that is eye catching.

Few things that I noticed that needs to be fixed urgently are: the over advertisement. You have too many ads in the sidebar. I scroll down the sidebar and I see ads and content. Sidebar ads are more prominent than the sidebar content.

As you see I have commented on your blog multiple times. You have comment relish installed, but for some reason it is not working correctly. I got the thank you email after every single comment. After 3 I stopped because I didn’t want to get any more emails.

Work on the footer. On pages like this it comes all the way to the top in IE 7.0. Only browser I checked in. Make the footer below the sidebar, so it looks like a footer.

Pagination needs to be somewhere better. I just don’t like the style. Even if you leave the pagination the way it is, take care of the problem on this page. Because pagination box is blank.

I like the idea of your Best Posts. I liked the comic one as well.

I understand that you want to make money off your personal blog, but keep the advertisement to a limit.

I am not doing reviews in great details so these are the quick things I noticed on your blog Angad.

Alright this is the second link love from the link love posts. And in this post if you haven’t guessed, Enkay Blog is getting reviewed.

Enkay Blog is definately a more personalized type MMO blog which not only shares how to make money but it shares other useful techniques. It analyzes how the marketing is working. What can you do to get more exposure. To me personally Enkay writes quality content which gets the reader. Atleast me. If you don’t know I check out all the blogs that belongs to my commentators. But I don’t always stay on all. Why?

Multiple reasons, too much ads, not enough content, not attracting content, ugly design and so on and so forth.

Believe it or not, I am in one of the top commentators at Enkay’s blog because I feel like that I should comment on all the posts. I always have something to say. Enkay you are doing a very good job in keeping the content. Keep it up.

Next thing, I really like the idea of having a list of female bloggers. Maybe I will make a list of something else. Lists are a big traffic generator and gets alot of mention if you guys haven’t notice. Oo and did you see that Amanda Roberts from WordScrawl is listed at 57. Thats cool as she is a part of Uzzz Productions.

I am very critical when it comes to the design of a site, even though the header doesn’t use very high quality images, the simplicity of a design is what gets the look. And the design is not over loaded with ads is another good thing.

I like the idea of a tabber in the sidebar, I am just hoping that you have the Archive tab limited to a certain number then have an archive page. Because otherwise it will go long after a time.

Mybloglog, I have never liked the big icons, But I guess that is more of a personal issue.

A few weeks ago, Enkay’s stats weren’t so astonishing, but in a few weeks he has done a very good job. His subscriber count has increased to 150, and his alexa is continuallry rising.

If I can give you some tips Enkay that would be, you don’t need to reply to all the comments you get. Just counting your replies on the contest post, it was 61 out of 167
