Balkhis - Vision For Success

Webmasters.org is for sale on sitepoint

Yes fellow webmasters in webmaster world this domain is surely making a buzz. Webmasters.org is for sale on Sitepoint. Believe it or not, but this domain is well worth the price.

Current bid is $36,000, yesterday Shoemoney wrote a post and it was only at $9,000, so it is a 4 times increase in 1 day.

This is a good domain in my opinion and it is very obvious why I think that. Potential to earn from this domain is way more than the current bid. I believe a good owner can get twice the return in one year. This domain is a pr 7 with a clean record.

Jeremy suggested that it can be a very good directory, and I think it can be a very good portal. Containing directory, webmaster forum, and webmaster tools.

I will say this domain can possibly fetch around $60,000 lets see how this one goes out.

Google Adsense Referral Retiring – What the Heck?

Well recently, I was reading Google Adsense Blog in which I was surprised to read that they are retiring their referral program. Well they are not exactly retiring, but they are replacing it with Google Affiliate Network.

So starting August 1, they will discontinue the adsense referral program. I don’t know if they will stop the ongoing referrals which haven’t converted yet because I know I have some that are waiting for convert. Hopefully, they let those convert because I don’t want to loose any of those $100.

Also I don’t know whether Google Product Referral will continue with this new Affiliate Network. I made a good amount with the google products, so I wish that they continue that, but they didn’t mention anything on their blog.

I just wish that google gets better at explaining their breaking news a little better for webmasters like us. But such a big corporation, I guess they have communication problems. By the way I hate the new google favicon. Did anyone else noticed that? It is just plain UGLY (Just my opinion) Hopefully they’ll make it a little brighter.

Bug Found in WordPress 2.5.1

Well, someone contact me via msn and told me that my Balkhis Contact form is not working. So I kinda got shocked because I was recieving emails from the contest. The person claimed that the security question is misspeled or something. Well anyways, I decided to head over the blog admin panel, to confirm.

Well I went to settings, and I see that there is no tab for the contact form. I got worried at first. I thought maybe the contact form doesn’t comply with this wordpress, but seconds later I rejected that thought because the contact form seem to be working fine. I head over to Uzzz Productions because it is also running on wordpress. I checked the contact form, and It was available there.

I came back to the Balkhis admin panel, and double checked everything and it didn’t work. Stupid thoughts were coming into my mind. Such as the plugin might not be activated, but then I would question myself how is it working if it is not activated. After a while I figured out a problem.

Curious to know?

Apparently I am using too many plugins, and the new wordpress admin panel design doesn’t have an option of going to the next line like the old one did. So alot of your plugins might not even be visible to you. It is not only in just one browser because I tested both IE 7.0 and FF (latest version). Also it is not just the wordpress default admin theme, the Fluency Theme by Dean Robinson also have the same issue.

Edit (June 22, 2008 22:23 EST) – Dean Robinson’s Fluency theme works fine. All you have to do is download the latest version of it. I didn’t know the latest version was out because it didn’t show in the admin panel that there is a new version for that plugin. Hopefully Dean you will add something that tells us users that like all other plugins do. (Now hopefully wordpress will get it fixed also)

I came to this conclusion because it was not available in Balkhis because Balkhis have alot more plugins, and It was visible in Uzzz. Also, when I copied the url and pasted it in Balkhis … The page was there and the plugin was working.

Hopefully this gets fixed.

Answer to Clue # 6 MLTV Show

Host: Dina
Telling us about ML: Debby

Answer to Clue #7

My Brother’s name is Zain

Answer to the Treasure Hunt

Page Title: Make Money Online
Url: http://www.balkhis.com/make-money-online/

Since only Angad and Rakshinda got the clue right when several others tried multiple times. I will explain how the clue was suppose to work.

There were 5 steps meaning 5 pages that you were suppose to visit to get 25 points. I started you with the first hint that was the Uzzz Portfolio Page. You were suppose to find a key which belong to Uzzz. So the first site you would’ve seen on the portfolio was eKey. So you visit eKey which is the 2nd step. The key was suppose to unlock the Castle’s Arcade Room. If you clicked on the logo of ekey or free proxy which is the top of the key it would’ve taken to you to FunCastle.org which was your 3rd page. You should’ve clicked on Arcade to hit the 4th page. Now on the arcade page you were suppose to find a four by four (4×4) to enjoy the ride to your final destination. 4×4 Rally is the most popular game at the funcastle arcade. If you would’ve searched for the word Final Destination you would’ve seen a link in the sidebar of that page. Which would’ve taken you to the final destination which was the Make Money Online page on Balkhis. You could’ve also just skipped step 5 because the Final Destination link was also on the main arcade page.

Once again thank you all for staying up to date in this contest. Since I didn’t post anything about my life in this week. I will do that in the upcoming post to show you guys what I have been doing. Also I will be sharing with you the tips I can give you from running a successful contest like this one.
