Areebu Theme for phpLD and WordPress

Once again, Balkhis and Uzzz Production is proud to present you the Areebu template for phpLD and WordPress. This template is named after my brother Areeb, who is also a part of Balkhis.

This template is special for directory owners because it contains category Icon mod, so category on the homepage will have unique icons. This mod is right now a paid one by another vendor, but I am offering it for free in this template.

All you have to do is get the category id number, and rename the icons to those numbers, and you can also add “.png” icons 48 x 48px size with more categories as you go. To find quality Icons, refer to my post Icon Pack for Webmasters.

Note for directory owners: When you install the template, It won’t work in the beginning because Category IDs are different in each database, so you will have to rename the icons or add icons. For those who doesn’t want this mod, I will add a version without the mod also, so for those who doesn’t want to go through the updating of the mod they can just download the other version.

WordPress version is like normal. I have added some extra widget ready sidebars. If you don’t know how to use it than visit my post about how to create and use extra sidebars.

Zainu Theme for WordPress and phpLD

Alright, now this is not an adsense ready template. I designed Zainu for those who want a corporate style look for their website. Zainu is being released on behalf of Balkhis Inc. and the designing credentials goes to Uzzz Productions. This is available for both wordpress and phpLD 3.3, so bloggers can use it just for blogs, and directory owners can use it for directories and have a matching blog.

It has becoming really hard to get sponsors for themes mostly because I don’t like posting my themes in public because there are not many serious bidders. If you want to get your link in the footer of my future templates contact me please.

Lupon – Adsense Ready Free WordPress Theme

It is my pleasure to present to you Lupon, a free adsense / widget ready wordpress theme designed by Uzzz Productions. Lupon is a very simple theme and it does not require any $600 software as one of the user complaint about the .psd logo file. Logo in this theme is text and when you edit your site title in WordPress Admin Panel, the logo will change automatically.

This theme have two sidebars, one is completely reserved for ads, and the other one is for widgets and normal stuff. This is the third theme released on behalf of Balkhis for wordpress. In addition to Balkhis, our sponsor for this theme is BizFire Business Directory.

Custom Page for WordPress

Recently, i was looking around the web for this topic “making custom page for wordpress”, but it was so hard to find anything for this keyword, and after spending some time i did find a good resource therefore i would like to share it here. What motivated me to write this post, well i already knew how to make a custom page a homepage, but i wanted a custom page, like you would see my banner page doesn’t have a sidebar.

This post will have three main points that it will be discussing. One main point would be creating a Custom WordPress Page, then the other two points will be different ways of making a static wordpress homepage. I thought alot about it, and have decided to have it in text and a video format for each method. Each method will have its individual video. I will try to go as slow as i can so others can follow, and i will try to explain each step clearly in the video.

Creating a Custom WordPress Page

What i mean by creating a custom wordpress page, is having a page in your wordpress blog that have different layout. Not necessarily just your homepage. As i needed a custom page on balkhis to post my new banners and if i had posted the 728×90 banner it would’ve broken the template, so to see an example of a custom wp page Click Here.

Now here is how you will start, open a notepad file, dreamweaver file, or some type of text editor. Then go on, and paste the following codes in it above everything, all your html codes and whatever you have on top.

You can use any WordPress phpTags you like such as calling header, footer etc. Make sure you save this file as a .php extension so lets save this file as custom.php, and then upload this to your default template folder. /wp-content/themes/yourtheme/ Disclaimer: Just so i don’t get stupid emails, yourtheme folder is the one that you are using, it doesn’t have to exist.

Now you can login to your wordpress admin panel, and click the Write Tab, and select Write Page not write post, write page. Then put the title of the page in this case we name it “Custom” and then on the right hand side where you select post slug and such, you will see a new option called Page Template, select the template in our case “BalkhisT1″, and hit publish now you have a custom wordpress page

Now if you don’t understand the above written instruction because i know i didn’t go as detailed, watch the video below to view everything step by step. I will go slow so i don’t loose anyone behind.

Next two methods are for custom homepage, i have two methods. I dont know if there are any advantages of them as in Search Engine wise, but they can surely be used to serve two different purposes.

Method 1: Raw Code
In this method, we will have a separate file called home.php and we will make it the homepage by adding some php codes. You can use this for a site that you don’t want to look anything like wordpress. for ex: Uzzz Productions.

Start by opening a blank .php page. add the following codes:

Now that will help you alot if you use it as that and just have a sidebar with manual page links, or use some of the wp tags to only display pages, and/or categories and give your site a custom non-wp look.

Method 2: WP-Admin Method
In this method, we will use the wordpress admin panel, and our technique above for wordpress custom page, to make your blog look unique, but it will still have the wordpress look because you are displaying the recent post.

First you have to do all the steps i explained above in the “WordPress custom page”, then you have to go to Write tab, click Write Page, and make a page so called “Blog” or whatever you like to call it. Make sure you put the page-slug as blog also because i am sure you want your users to read it so you are going to link it from your homepage. Now, in this one leave the page template as default rather than using the BalkhisT1.

Once that is done, go to your wordpress admin panel tab “Options” > “Reading”

On the front page options area, choose the Static Page option, Select your Front page as “Custom” and your Blog page as blog, and you are done.

Expansion – Free Template for phpLD and WordPress

ExpansionÂ is a theme releasd for both WordPress and phpLD. It is released for phpLD version 3.3 and 2.1.2 and WordPress (Latest edition). This theme is designed by Uzzz ProductionsÂ and is released by the courtesy of Genuine Web DirectoryÂ and Balkhis Inc. WordPress template is completely widget ready and this template is completely SEO Optimized and W3 Verified.

We tried to make this theme a combo package, but it was sliced in suchÂ a way that it can easily be used individually for each. If you see on the demo link for the blog, there are no buttons on the top, they can be easily added if one wants to use it as a combo for directory and wordpress. Logo.psd is included in each file, so it is easily editable.

This theme is released on a As IS basis so do not ask me to make free custom editions to the template because the Uzzz Team will not do it. Second, this template is to be used only if you follow the Terms of Service which is that you must leave all footer links intact unless you have Written Permision by me, or Steve (Owner of Genuine Web Directory).

Alot of people do not read the rules here in the post, so i have attatched a copy in the zip file. I will surely remind you that all links in the footer must stay there in order to use this template legally. This template is a property of Balkhis.
