Aside from your blog post, sidebar is you second major tool to increase page views. Add some popular posts on your sidebar, so your other users can see the top notch posts of your blog. This way when a user sees your post, they will head over to your other posts that they find interesting. This also decreases your bounce rate, so I suggest you implement this trick.

If you have a long list post, then just divide it into more pages. So people will open other pages, and this way you are increasing the value of your ad spots.

You might be thinking how you would do this. There is a plugin that is available for download called Multi-Page Toolkit

Nice tips.. My favorite would definitely be the third one, multi-page posts. With that technique and interesting post, you can’t fail in getting more page impressions, surely a killer.

Not only will this increase your pageviews, but also it will help to decrease your bounce rate, both very important for advertisers!

Till then,

These are great ideas, but I wouldn’t implement multi-page posts since that, as you said, irritates visitors and that’s something you don’t really want even at the cost of more pageviews…

All of my advertisers are looking for unique visitors numbers but I guess some might ask about the pageviews

My bouncerate is about 80$ which is quite bad. Guess I need to tweak my blog more

Michael It is probably a high bounce rate because you are using Entrecard on your website, hehe.

I’ve been doing the interlinking but I don’t know how much it is helping me. Is there a way to check how strong a link is?

2009-06-11 17:52:27

Well besides pagerank, Alexa rank and etc

another thing that I highly recommend is the use of a landing page on a blog… An LP could simply just be a welcome page w/the best articles listed.. I find it very effective for me and my blog

I’d say that the best way to improve your page views is by improving your Grpahical User Interface and that is all that matters.

While popular posts are picked up by a plugin due to how many views they received, there could be posts where you would consider “must read” which go unnoticed. It may be a good idea to manually include a few good “recommended posts”.
