How to Keep Blogging During the Hard Times
We all know that bad things happen. The recent passing of Syed’s grandfather has highlighted how quickly a situation can change without warning. Blogging is safe. It is contained in the computer, you can take it or leave it, and you control what happens on your website. The thing about blogging is though, when something happens, whether it be tragic like a death or beautiful like a birth, as our situations change, so does our blogging commitment. So the question becomes, how do you keep blogging when life throws you a curve ball?
Remember why you started blogging
We all started blogging for a reason. When something unexpected arises, it is especially important to remember why you started blogging. Whether you started as a release, to meet new people or to share your passion, chances are you still have that reason waiting in your heart to get you to blog again. If you remember these passions that led you to blog, you will stay motivated to blog, even through the hard times.
Reach out to the bloggers who have helped you
Bloggers are a family. Each blog has its group of core followers. These are the people who have been around since the begining and who will be there until the end. It is during these times that bloggers have to rely on their support system to get by.
Count your blessings
Remember that through thick and thin there is always something to be thankful for.
Seek your muse
Hard times can bring out all types of strong emotions. Try to channel these emotions into your blog, or your art, or your photography, and use that to your advantage. it is not often that we get to be struck so strongly with a muse, so use it to your advantage.
Here is to hoping that what life may surprise you with, you can use to your advantage.

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

nice motivational post syed.I will make a post on my blog now
Yup, i agree with you. Its a nice post. The points given are simple yet they are effective.
Its always good to make friends. So that when you are facing hard times you can turn to them for help
This is very inspiring, its true you should always be thankful through the tough times. Its always tough to blog during the hard times, Im sorry for the loss.
Yeah, nice encouragement post
Often we focus on the negatives but forgot the bright side and the blessings that we’ve already had
I like phylosophical thoughts about life and share the idea that everyday and everywhere we can see the light side of the life and see God’s blessing.
I blog because I must. Having started it, I find that I am addicted to it. Whether the times or hard or not, I believe that if you are hooked, you are stuck with blogging for ever.
Your take is quite inspiring. Thank you.
Great post, and you are right it can be hard to really function when you have something bad happen to you no matter what it is. I once heard a saying ad it stuck with me “It is not what man does in the light, it is what he can accomplish in the dark.”
I always took it as saying when things are nice and bright it is nice but not a real measure of man’s resolve. The true measure is what man can do when he is down.
“Remember that through thick and thin there is always something to be thankful for. ” I so agree with that, when my father passed, i was utterly devastated but he went in such a peaceful way that i knew i had to give thanks for that at least.
May you have the strength to find the silver lining to your particular cloud.
Good points. For me, remember my reasons for the blogging is the most important thing. There are challenges every day and keep that things in mind really helps.
Motivational, haha, I like it.
Perhaps, a blog should not be treated too seriously. Even if it’s made for making money, you would never lose your business, because the blog will bring some money on autopilot. You’ll lose some profits, but not all.
If you’re blogging not for money, but for people, I’m surethat you’ll never ruin your readership’s loyalty if you will be absent even for a month.
I subscribe to a variety of blogs on Google Reader, all grouped into certain categories (design, blogging tips, social media, inspiration, zen, self improvement, etc.). Whenever I’m feeling the need for a muse, I go to the subject I am most interested in at that moment, and start commenting on blogs in that folder. It seems to help jog my brain into generating content again.

I learned something in this post.
Look for positive things that can come out from negative ones.
People have a lot of reason why they blog, it can be personal or for business purposes. The one thing that is very vital in blogging is honesty and sincerity although you need to market a product, but being honest of what you are going to say is very important and could attract more readers.

Sorry to hear about your loss Syed – I feel for you
I lost my Grandfather about a year ago and it took a little while to get over
Good luck with your mental recovery from this loss
Dont be bothered even if you’re not making money yet, the time will come and I have learnt that myself personally!
Yes,really troubles, fears and dissatisfaction are great obstacles on the way to success, the most precious achievement of a person is his readiness to accept the life he lives at the present moment and bless it.
Yeah the only thing that motivates me to keep on working is the goal that I’m heading for
“Remember why you started blogging” is the one that helps me the best. It helps me just shut everything out and focus.
Looking at the comments on this post is itself another motivation to keep blogging. When you get this amount of support from loyal readers you know you are doing a good job and that certainly is the motivation to keep going!
Hi! I remember this famous blogger, Steve Pavlina who said that we are the message, and blogging is just a medium. I guess if we cultivate a life of passion, we will always have something inspirational to write
Blogging for blogging’s sake, I believe is never the answer.
I had not read that. Interesting.
I think it is also a good idea to have something near you that reminds you why you started blogging in the first place. Or some sort of photo where you can draw strength from, i think is very important!
I just think of the idea mentioned above. We must cultivate the life we want, our thoughts are the seeds growing through the depth of the soil, what is grown up?It is seen in everyday life.
This thought has actually given me something to think about. I love Steve Pavlina
I couldn’t keep up with the rtegular update, but this post has shade some light into ideas I had in the past. Thanks
Me too. Posting everyday is a bit hard for me
Thanks, man. It’s a bit daunting starting out with sooo many great blogs already out there…

Too right Syed. What life hands you just makes you stronger and that can be used in blogging also.
