Maybe people won’t even take note of the ads! I mean most people don’t expect a page to be ad free. People are getting immune to ads.

I wouldnt put ads in my 404 page mainly because it might deter someone from coming to your website because they fear it to be a page filled with ads.

I think coding your 404 pages is a great way for people to get to your blog if they happen to type in something wrong or something.

That should be alright … It is really upto you You can put them in ..Sometimes users like it sometime they don’t.
