Recently, I have been spending time on Plurk. First of all, It is a time well spent because I can interact with other people and I get ideas for new posts. Also I get to have some fun time. When I started with Plurk, I didn’t know how to do alot of things such as making a URL, or referring to someone. Making the text italics, or bold. Well I asked a question on Plurk, and found that someone already have wrote a guide.

I think it won’t hurt to have something on my blog like that as well, so next time I won’t be searching for a guide, I will directly visit my own site, and my readers will see it here as well. First of all fellas, if you want to make connections with other webmasters and bloggers.

JOIN PLURK NOW and add me as a friend because Balkhis Plurk Page is the Home for Webmasters and Bloggers.

Once you have joined Plurk, then you would use these guides below.

Inserting a URL in your Plurk

Just type in the format like this http://www.balkhis.com (Balkhis) so basically url.com (anchor text), and this will get you a text link.

Referring to a specific username

Alot of times when you plurk, two people ask you two different questions, so you would need to specify the answer to each of them, so just add @username so @balkhis will directly link to that user which means that you are referring to that user.

Making the Text Bold

Put double asteriks around a word will make it bold. So simply just put **Balkhis** will make it bold.

Italicizing the Text

Wrap around the text in one asterik. For example *Balkhis* will make the text italicized.

Underlining the Text

Use double underscore before and after the word. So make it __Balkhis__ will make the word underlined.

To show video

Just enter the url and plurk, and it will show a thumbnail.

What is Plurk Karma?

Just a point based system that ranks all the users based on activity and how other people think of them which is determined by the love shown by friends.

How do you increase your Karma?

Increase Plurking, Respond to other plurk, Plain Simple JUST BE MORE ACTIVE. Also recommending friends will also get you good Karma.

Why do you want to have a higher Karma?

You want a higher Karma because thats the way you are ranked. Also with the higher Karma comes the cool emoticons, cool backgrounds and much more abilities.

Now get back to Plurk.. If you haven’t joined.. What are you waiting for. Join already.

I like the design of it, but I just don’t have the time it takes to do these twitter – plurk type things. I just can’t update everyone on when I take a cr**… lol

I have joined plurk but so far, I use it more for chatting than blatant promotion. It is addictive…

By the way, how do you check the traffic from plurk?
