The hardest niche in the webmaster world?
Ok. This was one of the entertaining questions that I found going through my email, and I thought to myself how will I answer this one. Let me establish one thing… With hard work, dedicated team, capital investment, and time, nothing is hard! But if you lack one of those things than there are some niches in the webmaster world that can get impossible to be successful at.
I will go ahead and rank 3 niches where it will be very hard for an individual to find success.
Webmaster Forum
When you have the big dawgs in the industry such as Digitalpoint, Sitepoint, Namepros, Webmaster-talk, and Bloggeries, I would say that it gets really competitive. Because all the forums that I have listed above already have the content your new forum will have. You will still be behind the 100,000 post that they will be getting while you develop your forum. Alot of Capital Investment, and I mean alot is necessary to start a webmaster forum and get it big. Also you must be patience. It will not be quick to get the users away from a place and bring them to yours.
Search Engines
Really and truly for all the brave heart beginners who get in the business with a goal that they are going to make a search engine as big as google. It might sound easy, but it is not. First without a real capital investment you can’t go anywhere. Even if you have that, you will need some of the best developers in the world. Even Microsoft with it’s Live can’t compete with Google.
SEO Tools
This niche is another dead end because some serious innovation is necessary. Many SEO Tools has came out in public which were good in the beginning and due to lack of support those massive user base has fallen everytime. It can be one of the easiest/hardest because it will be easy to get the users, but hard to keep them!
While I agree that there are many more niches that can be even harder in the webmaster world above are the ones that I believe are the hardest in my opinion. Feel free to add on about your opinion, and if you have a good reply such as
Niche:
Why do you think:
I will include it in this post

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

Very informational post!
“With hard work, dedicated team, capital investment, and time, nothing is hard! But if you lack one of those things than there are some niches in the webmaster world that can get impossible to be successful at.”
I couldn’t agree more. I believe that my partner and I have an incredible idea but it is hard to get in really deep because of lack of capital.
That is the problem with almost half of the websites online …
Those are pretty tough niches, I think the make money online one is as well, there are a lot of folks in it and half don’t know what the heck they are talking about.
Without hardwork, dedicated team, capital investment and time you can’t make in the business world both offline and online.
I would say all of those niches you mention are pretty tough. Though with the right resources and knowledge you can be be successful with anything.
What’s your take on web directories?
Is it hard to make an established directory as directories are already being in full conversations right now.
Chetan,
I have already answered about that one in this post
Post about General Directories
It was about how to make money from general web directories, but i was asking about building and establishing a good directory
very well..
No I do not believe it is hard to make an established directory, and the best example I have is directory journal. Launched about a year or so ago, and it is doing great as their editors have been adding resourceful sites every day.
I think that if a user wants to develop a directory and establish it … It requires just as much as a blog does and sometimes more because blogs gain links quickly and naturally whereas directories doesn’t go the same way.
While many people fail at making an established directory is because they want quick money therefore they tend to not make as much money in the beginning, so either they sell it, or abandon it, but to maintain an establish directory such as keep adding new resources every day and still approving sites specially if you are getting a large amount is a hard task for one person, so you need an editorial team for that.
Hopefully I have cleared it up.
Thanks for the good reply Syed
always my pleasure Chetan
Very interesting post…
Making money online (hands down)
haha yeah that is a pretty hard niche eh
looks like you got everything covered “With hard work, dedicated team, capital investment, and time, nothing is hard! But if you lack one of those things than there are some niches in the webmaster world that can get impossible to be successful at.â€, i dont think you could have put it any better, and this is not just for internet i have experienced it with sports as well.
Webmaster forums have to be the worst specially because there are so many of them out there and some of them are not as informative or helpful as others.
Making a search engine requires really large capital. Hard niche to achieve but you shouldn’t be afraid of dreamin big!
