Who is your audience?
|
Time to time, i see starters who are trying to fit in with the rest, starts optimizing their sites to rank high in search engines. While they are doing that they neglect their targetted audience which was once users, and loose all the traffic and the SERPs as well. It is a step by step process which happens and many people doesn’t even notice it and they end up watching their own demise and not doing any thing about it. Find out how you can avoid that and stay on top of your game. |
First of all you need to ask yourself this question who is your targetted audience? At this point i am hoping it is not Search Engine because if it is then you need to rethink again. If after rethinking it is still search engine you can pay me as i am taking a psychology class and i can help you, and probably convince you into switching if you have serious goals in making money online.
Let me remind you bloggers, or any website owners, Search Engine Bots will not click your ads, and they will not join the webhosting companies or buy other products through your affiliate ads. While they should be in the list of your things to pay attention to, but they definately should not be on the top. The top of your list and your upmost priority should be your targetted audience, real people, such as mine are you guys. Webmasters and starters who have a vision for success online. If i start optimizing this site for search engines, and only post keywords and just try to fill up my posts with hyperlinks to all my other websites then i will loose all the users who come to my website, and my subscribers as well because my content won’t be useful if i add all the irrelevant links.
Second not only i will loose traffic, I will see some really good SERPs results. Wait a minute that is not suppose to be a good thing you know why? Because you will be penaltised on the next update. Yeah are you making funny faces at me? It is true. The moment you start optimizing your site for search engine and make them your targetted audience they will start paying to much attention to you, and TOO Much attention is dangerous because every single activity of yours will be monitored and you will be penaltised for your mistakes. (Abusing Keywords), Useless adverts, Paid Links, and many other reasons the SEs can find for you.
Now you already lost your users, you just lost your SERPs. There you go… You have accomplished your goal. You are Doomed. Now wait a minute what if you are given a second chance because right now we are just imagining by reading my blog post. In the second chance you take these methods and watch the success.
First of all you dont worry about what search engines are doing. Forget Google, forget Yahoo. You are worried about what is going on your website. Don’t waste your time checking your SERPs in google, or checking your serps in yahoo. Your backlinks because those are all just fame things because you will see it and be happy and if it goes down you will be depressed. You need to realize that you are wasting your time by checking your backlinks and rankings every other minute. Now i know that Alexa only updates once in 24 hours and people check their alexa rank multiple times a day. Why? I guess to satisfy their egos… (You definately need a psychiatrist if that is the case), and not me somebody real professional.
Use that time efficiently and offer more content and more resources to your audience. They will be happy. There is nothing better than a happy audience because these people will tell their friends about your website, and your site will gain popularity. Their friends will tell their friends, so on so forth. Now once these people are a fan of yours and everyone is liking your website, some might actually go write about you. Now all these Search Engines are going to notice you, but its not because you are yelling out your name, but someone else is. They will wonder who is this kool kid in the town, and then they would want to be your friend.
Now it might seems childish to use such terminology but whatever gets the work done. Now once they are your friend, they will give you what you want. High rankings, now you have obtained your high SERPs goal, and your high traffic is keep increasing. Your users are happy. You are earning from your website because you have real people visiting your site who are clicking ads and such. You now have more possibility of being found through search engine as they are your friend now.
I like the second way much better. Therefore think again before you make Search Engine your targetted audience. If you have to say something don’t be shy feel free to comment.

My target audience is the traffic from search engines but am not that much loved by SEs and so currently many other blogs and source of my traffic and the audience actually stays in my blog.. and i love it.
I agree that it’s important to consider your target audience when you’re creating content. All that traffic does you absolutely no good if people run away at the site of your content.
[...] waiting to strike the directories with the lightning. Well i just wrote a good post yesterday about Who is your Audience?, so you should definately read this post, and please please remember that the people who get you [...]
Target audiences are often lost, because of the changes on the content that the owner makes. Your right syed making your users happy is a number one thing.
