Balkhis Sweet Monday Link Roundup 11/10/08
Last week was a busy one. Life is getting busier and busy. I have to fight for every spare minute. But I am trying to do the best in getting school work done, having fun as well as working online. Aside from the normal boring routine, this past week I went to Lake Wauberg. We cooked on the grill, throw some football around. Climbed the rock and played Frisbee golf.
Other than that, I read some good posts on the forums. Helped a few people setting up their site and I enjoyed seeing my subscriber count increasing crazily. Can’t wait till it gets to 2k. Maybe it is time to add a newsletter. What do you guys think?
Well while you are thinking of that check out some cool posts that I liked.
Mike Kelly, my affiliate manager at Market Leverage wrote an awesome blog post at my friend Nabil’s blog talking about the Importance of the Affiliate / Affiliate Manager Relationship
A proof of how email subscription boxes really work is pretty obvious at Yan’s blog. He increased his blog email subscribers by 60 in 7 days. So if you don’t have email subscription box you might want to think again. Read this tutorial to find out how you can add one to your site.
One of the few blogs that are in my daily feeds is problogger. Darren always write quality articles. So check this article that tells you how you can improve your blog even when you are not online.

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

Thanks for the links; they sound interesting.
And good to know that you are not being an ‘All work and no play’ Jack and that you are taking out some time for fun as well
Sorry, also meant to ask what is ‘frisbee golf’ and how do you play it?
You have to throw a frisbee and there is a place with a net. Your goal is to try to get your frisbee in there. You can take as many turns. You pick up from where you left off.
Thanks again, Syed for the mention. Now I’m learning how to get 1796 subscribers and hopefully by then, I could proudly say it loud that you’ve been one of my inspiration..;)
Yan
PS; I’m surprised that you are not using any formal email marketing list.
Thanks for the links. You seem to be managing work and play really well in spite of the understandably busy schedule that you have.
i am not a huge fan of email newsletters, because i am a huge RSS subscriber (about 150 feeds) and i like to keep the blogs out of my email, which i use for literary rather than blogging work. that’s just my two cents. while i do subscribe to a few newsletters, i never subscribe via email if i can get the blog via feed. if others feel this way it could limit your potential subscribers.
I would definatly subscribe to a news letter if you set one up, good luck on reahcing the big 2k im still on 13 hoping to get bigger and better soon.
Great stuff , I wish days were 48 hours long ,then maybe I could learn some more stuff and push forward
, Football is always a good way to relax your mind.
Yan’s post was interesting. Oh, and did you read ProBlogger’s latest post about Digg traffic? Pretty interesting.
