How to market yourself during Holiday Season

Dear Readers, I would like to thank you for reading this post. I highly value your feedback and would like to know more about my readers. Follow me on Twitter

Yesterday, I received a card in my mail. It was from my recent client that Uzzz Productions just finished working with. The card was just wishing us Happy Holidays. First of all Thank you Stephanie and Peter from New Heights Coaching.

Now I thought of it and this was a really smart technique. I know personally handing out gift cards via mail can be a bit expensive for smaller companies, but I think the mailing list is not too hard. I haven’t incorporated a news letter yet in Balkhis, but I will make sure that I make a Happy Holiday post soon for you guys.

So getting back to the point how you can market yourself or your new products during holiday season. First thing first, if you have a great product that you are selling. Put some Holiday Discount for your users. Now I know one of my good friend Jeff Behrendt from Aviva Directory sent out an email to Aviva Directory users. With a 20% off coupon. I think that is a really smart decision.

This way you are getting your product sold for a little less, but at the end of a day you have a loyal user, the one who will come back.

Another thing I notice that could be done with this christmas letters is branding your new products. Lets say you developed a tool. That you want to launch. What would be a better time to launch then right now? I mean you can send out a news letter to your readers, and let them know about this new product a long with holiday greetings. Perhaps if it is a premium tool, might let them have first month free. I think holiday seasons are unbeatable.

A major thing that you should never forget is Affiliate Marketing. Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years coming soon people buy tons of gifts. Now wouldn’t you be very nice if you suggest some nice gifts to your readers. It should start with a greeting and wishing them happy holidays then you can suggest some gifts that they can give to their family and friends. That is when affiliate marketing comes in. If that product have affiliate option available, then why not embed your link. You might be making some good cash by being nice. Good Cash, Loyal Readers… What else can you possibly want.

A lot of things are not available via normal affiliate programs, so I suggest you guys use Amazon Affiliates to take the most advantage.

Above are a few ways that you can market yourself and your products during holiday season. So are you smart enough to do it? If you have any other suggestions feel free to put them down here. If I like them I will include it in the post.

I received a card from MoreNiche signed by about 30 employees (even though I havnt actively used them for 6 months)…and it reminded me about them and I started promoting them again.

One simple card can really be worth so much more.

Yeah it is an amazing time of the year. Even with how the market is people still manage to buy things that, lets face it probably don’t need but it makes them happy. A happy buyer is a profitable buyer I say.

Thanks

Great way to catch up on some lost time and not to worry much about the revenues. :)

Good marketeers, online or off, routinely do this to build relationships with their customers and it never fails.

A customer will not become loyal just over a discount alone, it would be false to think that.

They are simply savings some $ and your making a sale, nothing else.

Loyality comes by caring and taking the time to listen to your customers / individual needs, meet those needs and where possible exceed thier expectations and by the personal attention and back up given to them over a long period.

You simply can not mass market loyalty, people do not buy it.

As for the reminder I am not sure, but if i get a card just saying thanks, we appreciate your support, they use my name / families names etc and wish a merry xmas it would probably sit on my mantle, if i get a card / letter thats just jammed with buy my product because hey your on my list, it will probably sit in the bin

just my 2c

It really depends on each person now won’t you think? I think it is a great gift to give if you are giving some discount because not each webmaster can send ipod nano’s to their user’s mail.

I am not saying to spam the users with multiple sale discounts. What I said perhaps was to suggest some gifts on your blog with your affiliate links. Maybe if I made my top 5 list that I would give.

1. xxx (Affiliate Link)
2. so on….

I don’t know that I will push too much for sales over the holidays, but I may offer a happy holidays greeting with some freebies…then I will promote some products after the 1st. Great post!

That is quite astute of you; the holiday season does indeed offer more marketing opportunities, which one can easily take advantage of. Thanks for pointing it out.

For an online business a newsletter is a great way to get return business. The way my business does it is called a coupon club, and everyone in that coupon club gets an automatic discount of 10%. However we don’t just stop there we also mail out, via email, even better discounts to those in the coupon club to try to get them to come back and by something. It may not get all of them back but it does get some and some is more than none.
Thanks

Holiday season is the very time for making money and getting pleasure from shopping as well. I agree that the time of holidays opens a vast array of marketing opportunities that buyers just cannot miss. By the way, St. Valentine’s Day is coming. So be ready!

I have already seen the actions for St.Valentine’s beginning. I like this pretty time of the year when people show each other that love and tender feelings do matter in their life.I think online market will use the emotional aspect in sales.

You are very right, offering holiday discounts or providing some sort of bonus can keep up the marketing sales.
Thanks for the post :)

I had read this on another post that traffic is very season oriented, so this one will make it more convinient to find how to woo this traffic in your favour, thanks.
