Cancelling Account on Myspace
Myspace, a social networking phenomenon is now worst than spamwares about cancelling service. It is ranked #5 in Alexa and so many people use it, but I don’t know why. Let me tell you how I used it. When I got in the web industry, my sole goal was to make money. I will do it any way I could. I got a script that will add me to these 75 myspace trains, and people will add me from there. I had tons of thousands of friends and I made a chunk of money by sending out bulletins periodically about different websites. You can say I was averaging about than $40 a day by posting bulletins which equals $1200 a month. Damn for a 13 year old that was sweet. But then i got tired of it, and I left that business and moved on toward proxies. Thats another story.
But after almost 3 years I finally opened my account and decided to delete it. It took me 6 confirmation screens to delete the damn thing.
First step in the account setup page.

Second confirmation ok thats understandable because I can accidently click the cancel link

This is taking it to an extreme because this should’ve been asked already in the second step.

Damn, Now I must follow the email. WTF? I dont think they need to confirm it this many times. This should’ve already been done at the second step. Email dispatched.

Alright Now they are on my nerves. If i click the damn cancel link then cancel my F**king account !!!

O Hell No, Don’t tell me it is just in the que and will take another 48 hours. After all those steps I want it to be done now.

Thinking about making a myspace account. Think again. Reason why I stopped because I would get an email from them. Your friend’s Birthday Notifier, and I will go check instantly and there is nothing there. They were just spamming to get me to visit myspace.
I am just too frustrated about these people.

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

Man thats just awful.
I do have a myspace account but never made any use of it, but now would better keep my profile empty. What a crap process for account deletion.
yeah.. and people are so crazy about it. I saw facebook have the steps also, but they don’t have as many yet. I believe it will get there as time comes.
Facebook is actually more civilized than Myspace in my opinion but looking at Facebooks beta design, I am not too hopeful!
I set up a myspace account one day just to see what people were talking about. I was not impressed and never really logged in again. But I still get get all these emails with people requesting to be “my friend”. Alway some knock out woman like Angelica which is more than likely some guy just using the pic.
lol yup … because psychologically It is proven that both males and females like attrative feminine looks. That helps these people get more friends.
[...] Ah well, I expected this to happen. For those of you who don’t know I am not a big fan of twitter. I tried it and never really liked it a whole lot. Twitter gained quiet fame among the bloggers like Myspace once did among everyone. I remember people selling myspace accounts for money and then those accounts were used for spammy advertisement. One of the reasons why I deleted my myspace account. [...]
I’ve never really liked MySpace. In India, people are crazy abut orkut! Orkut is neat, simple to use and hence liked by everyone even if it does not have all those features of other sites.
I have had myspace for like a year now, its not such an bussiness website as an communicating one.I just have it for friends, its alright. But you syed my firend should have just left it, doing so much just too delete a account is wrong.
Cancelling an account on Myspace takes longer than creating an account and that usually deters people from cancelling their accounts. I have mine deactivated instead.
