Easy way to get Backlinks

Dear Readers, I would like to thank you for reading this post. I highly value your feedback and would like to know more about my readers. Follow me on Twitter

How easy do you think it is to get backlinks? Fairly easy for bloggers. I remember writing in my post for starting a blog that you need to evaluate your competitors. Well, while you are evaluating them and reading their blog posts to get the general idea what does the audience like feel free to leave a comment. I mean you read the post, so might as well get a backlink from their blog by giving them a constructive and thoughtful comment.

Why is commenting on your competitor’s blog important?

You both have the same targetted audience. For instance if you are targetting webmasters, and you come to my blog and see that I am targetting webmasters as well you can check out some of my posts. While you were checking the post and you read them feel free to comment. This goes with any type of niche with any type of blog. Just make sure your comment is thoughtful. You are trying to get some of your competitors audience to your website. You can advertise on their websites as well, but this is another useful way. This is killing two birds with one stone as you were going to analyze their blog and see what they were doing anyways, and all you are doing is taking that extra minute and writing some comments. I can guarantee you, if you do one comment on few blogs each day, and if the blog is provoding top commentators link all over. Imagine how many backlinks you can get. Hence why one of the main things that attract commentators is that top commentator plugin.

Now especially if you are new in the industry this is the step you definately want to take because you want to learn from the experts in the industry. You have to check their blog out regardless, so post a comment. Everyone on their blog who reads that post and finally sees your comment will check your website out. If they are offering a top commentators list on the sidebar or somewhere. You will get exposure through there, and since the link is on the sidebar, your backlink counts will increase.

There is only one problem. That is SPAM. No one likes spam, I know i don’t, and i am very sure none of those expert bloggers like them either. Therefore, one thing you definately do not want to do is spamming. You will be revealed in public as a spammer and you don’t want to do that. A while back i was getting this crazy comments which the first one i got i thought it was real.

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.

But i started getting alot of these, so i knew it was spam. Ofcourse i didn’t take any real action other than blocking the email address and the ip it was coming from. One of the other bloggers that i read actually went ahead and do some research on this spammer. They expose the spammer, and his sites along with the email to public. Read it now, to blacklist these emails.

You definately don’t want to be one of these people who spam the blogs because if anyone takes initiative in revealing your identity it can not only have a bad impact on your website, but any website that you will start on the future will carry the negative reputation because you yourself have earned negative reputation. And let me remind you that Reputation is everything in online business.

While i say it is a easy way to get backlinks, it is easy because it is free, but it is one of the easy ones to get you a bad reputation as well. So use it wisely. All comments are welcome.

Nice post – I am not good about reading alot of blogs. I just don’t have the time. The only blog I do ready is yours as it is actually worth the time spent.

Hi Syed,

Great post – its amazing the number of people that overlook this extremly simple method of generating backlinks and FREE traffic to their site!

I frequently get asked questions about how to increase traffic to websites – and this is part of the standard answer; yet most people discount it.

Looking at my stats, it’s clear that commenting on blog posts by providing GOOD information (as opposed to just spamming) has resulted in additional visitors. It doesn’t drive HUGE amounts of traffic – but the traffic that is coming gives me the opportunity to win that visitor over so that they become regulars.

Regards,

Mohamed

With the no. of tools available, some of which offer auto posting feature, blog spamming does occur easily.

It’s hard to avoid. I guess the only way is to moderate.

The other thing to note is that if you only want traffic, any related blog will do. However, for link juice, make sure “no follow” is not enabled.

It is very important to comment on competitor’s blog because you both are targetting the same audience, and If his users see the link they will definately come visit your site and you can potentially make them loyal to you.

If there is one thing i learn early in getting a backlink, I mean a legitimate one, is thru commenting on relevant website.

I think this is the easiest and most effective way to get backlinks and free traffic for a new blog.

Thanks for the post. As a fellow blogger, I didn’t realize that blog comments are a way to go.
