Becoming SEO friendly can definitely help your blog show up better in Google. I know that a lot of my posts show up in Google on the first or second post for a variety of different keywords. For a long period of time I used to be on the first page if you typed in MP3 Player and that brought in lots and lots of hits. Its all about SEO.
