If you want to make money online (by blogging), it is good if you have a niche blog. It is good because you would be recognized by people as an expert on that niche. When people recognize you as an expert, they would be visiting you site and that will help you to be an authority in Google eyes (You can read more about how to get authority status on Google). You don’t necessary have to choose a niche you know about. You can choose a niche that interests you and you want to learn more about it.

The main reason why you need a niche site is because it is easier to SEO i.e. to get backlinks to the site. If you want to get backlinks to your site, you need to do dofollow commenting, article marketing, directory submission and other ways. With all these methods, you would find out that what they all have in common is your anchor text. You would need to use your anchor text when doing this. so that you can improve your SERPs.

SEOing A Niche Site

When you are SEOing your niche site, basically you are mostly SEOing your home page. When you are doing this, you would have to use your anchor text or the keyword you would like to rank high on search engines. This means that all traffic that comes to your blog would be landing on your home page. This is great because when they go to your home page, the readers would see other articles you have written about the niche. Seoing a niche site is also easy to do directory submission. As you probably know, if you are doing directory submission, you have to submit your home page to the directory. Only few directories allow inner pages or deep submission. The top names directories such as DMOZ and yahoo directory requires you to submit your blog’s URL only. Most of the few directories that allow deep submission usually charge a fee for you to be able to do that.

SEOing A Nicheless Site

But if you have a nicheless blog, you cannot only optimize your home page. You have to optimize other pages for those pages to have good SERPs for their keywords. Optimizing other pages would need more work. And when the traffic (from search engine) comes to your site, they would not land on your home page, they would land on that article page they saw on thr search engine that they used. This means that they would not see other articles on your blog. The only readers that would see other articles are the curious ones that wants to know more about your site. You can argue that your readers would see other posts with the help of any related post plugin. But the plugin shows posts that are related either based on categories, keywords, anchor text or tags. For instance, if you wrote an article about caring for dogs and you also wrote another article about how to sleep; there is no way your readers would see the other article if they are reading one of the articles. They would only see it if they decide to explore your site.

In my opinion, not only do you make money with a niche site, but it is easier to make money if you can make a blog on a long tail keyword. The long tail keyword blog would help you to start making money quickly because it is easier to dominate. When you see that you can dominate the long tail keyword, that would post your confidence, and motivated you to go for the main keyword.

So I increased a little bit more activity on digitalpoint to do an experiment. But while I am visiting it more often stupid threads with titles, make big money blogging. Where the guy ask a question how do you make big money blogging. Or someone saying start blogging if you want to make big money blogging. First I will say big is a very subjective word. Second I will show you how I make money blogging.

How Much Money do I make?

I will say it like this I don’t make any where close to how big blogger make from their blog. But I am averaging around 2300 – 2400 USD a month from Balkhis. Now you are wondering how do I make that money from Balkhis. More yet, thinking how do I survive from just that little income. Because that is only 28000 yearly. But you have to understand a good portion or a major portion of my income comes from my web design company, Uzzz Productions which puts me close to six figure marks gross. Now lets get into how do I make money blogging.

Google Adsense

Adsense is something that I don’t incorporate in all of my posts, but I put it in the posts that are popular. Or the ones that are likely to get tons of traffic mostly tutorials. Aside from that, I have adsense in the header banner that makes me a decent amount of money, but it is not the majority. I mostly use the size 336 x 280 and 468 x 60. So use those because they work the best.

Private Ad Sales

Private Ad sales are a good one. I have header banner for sale as well as sidebar buttons. Also paid reviews. Those account for some of my income, but this one is still not the majority. Mostly direct ad sales are a pain to manage, but I use OIO Publisher to do it myself. I don’t believe in giving my money to any of the companies like Text Link Ads or Review me because they take up so much of the commission, you won’t get the money that you deserve. So do it directly with OIO Publisher.

Affiliate Marketing

The biggest Chunk of Balkhis Income comes from Affiliate marketing. How do I do it? Well I use Commission Junction for the most part, and Market Leverage as a secondary earner. Commission Junction have the most offer then you can imagine. So if you use them you are most likely to find offers that you want. I usually use hosting and other different sorts. If I am writing a post, and I think that I can find something that would be a good product. I head over to Commission Junction and run a search. And sometimes I write posts entirely based on the products, and it works very well also. So now if I just embed the CJ link it doesn’t do it. So I use WP-Affiliate Plugin that lets me make urls like balkhis.com/refer/xxxx so that helps me track the urls and see how it works. Now some people say Balkhis why people buy the products from your site and not from mine when I place the affiliate codes. And I will say, I really don’t know. I will probably say read the post How to make sales from your blog and earn profit. That have a little bit of answer. But that should cover that.

My costs of running / Advertisement

How much does it cost me to run Balkhis. Time and hosting fee. I switched to host gator reseller which cost me $25 monthly, and that is about it. I buy ads on a few sites thats it which is not very expensive. Rest is just social media. I am not one of those people who spend a lot of money.

Making money with affiliate marketing. I am sure you guys heard of that statement on the web. Well, I am not going to show you how you can make money with affiliate marketing, but I will present to you today with another affiliate marketing company called T3Leads.com which is a Pay Per Lead company. T3leads contains mostly financial related products, so you might get paid $2 per lead for a person who got loan in Montana, but you might get $20 per lead for a person in New York.

What set T3leads aside from the rest?

They have multiple payment options. That is what a lot of companies lack. They either offer wire transfer, or check. But T3leads have more than just that.

As you can see above that they pay through paypal, and any other way that you could possibly want. The downside in that is that they take away a few % for sending you other ways. So if you get paypal, you will get $97 instead of $100.

Another good part about T3leads.com is that they offer payments biweekly. That means every 15 days whereas other affiliate companies take 30 to 60 days. So this way you get your money more quickly. Who like to wait for money to get in their pocket? Not me, that is why people should join this company.

Organization of the offers is very simple as well, so anyone can pretty much use it.

So all to all, I think this is worth a try. The only issue I see is the pay per lead auction thing because I think they should be more clear about it. So I know which offers work best. Today, I was on Plurk for a short while till I noticed someone mentioned Scour. So I said, you know what the heck lets check it out. So I took a visit. It asked me to sign up.

I signed up to Scour, and I got 250 points by default. Right now, I have no idea what these points are for. Then I read a little and saw that you get points to search, comment, and leave a thumbs up or thumbs down. The next part was that these points actually converts into actual $$$. 6500 points = $25.

Well now you are thinking that 6500 points is alot. Well not exactly. Considering for people like me who search Google, then Yahoo for multiple different reasons. I can just search the keyword here and it tells me the ranking of each term in the Search Engine. Not only that, if I like the article I can leave a thumbs up.

I get points. So if you are doing 25 searches a day. At the end of the year, you will have extra $25. Well you are thinking it is just $25. I think in terms of it is $25 that I am getting now which I wasn’t getting before.

Besides for bloggers like you and me who search for the sources while writing a post, this can be another great source of income. For someone like me who ends up doing over 100 searches a day, I get an extra $125 for a year. For doing the same thing that I was doing before.
