Importance of Social Bookmarks in the Template
Social Bookmarks are essential for web advertising. By saying that i make my point clear about that it is necessary to promote your blog(s) and websites added in the social bookmarks. The question comes on how exactly will you advertise on the different social bookmark websites. That problem is solved by one of the Social bookmark submitters like Add to Bookmarks or Addme. Many people even go as far as paying others to bookmark their sites. All these ways work, but ok you can pay one guy, ten guys, twenty guys. It will end somewhere, but your site won’t end. You will have to keep going, so how will you get each and every single one of your user to bookmark your website or blog posts.
An easy way to do is by placing icons for the most popular social bookmark service below your post. What this will do is when someone reads the post, and they really like it. They will just click on the icon to stumble, digg, or add it to other bookmarks rather than going through the hassle of manually submitting each. I did it on balkhis and it helps alot. I am happy to offer it to my loyal users also. I hope you guys will make a good use out of this information and hopefully it helps your site. This is only workable for wordpress, you can make it work with other scripts by changing the url codes to another site.
I have put the codes just like how it is displayed on balkhis, and uploaded on the html file because there is no point in putting up each and individual one. The Default image is loading from Balkhis Server, but i have included a seperate file for icons just incase if you dont want to use balkhis server, or do not trust me (j/k). It is ok if you use your server i have no issues with that. I do not require any link backs if you use this, but any mention of Balkhis is appreciated.
This should surely bump some of your traffic as social bookmarks are a great source of traffic. Don’t abuse the services though

Social bookmarks are great for traffic…and adding the icons make bookmarks much easier
Yes they definitely are, specially a place like Stumble or Digg. That means a lot of traffic in a short amount of time.

This is a very nice and clean way to add social bookmarking. I’m not sure how many visitors really know what it is. . . so I put a little not on my main sites telling them to promote the page if they liked it. . .it might help.

Thanks! I’ll be using the bookmarks in the new theme I’m designing for my blog. Social Bookmarking sites can be a real booster.
A few months ago I had received such a tremendous boost from SU that I ran out of bandwidth! I was on a free hosting and before I could buy hosting, the site had a down time of almost 2 days. That killed all the traffic SU was sending my way!!
I will rue that day for a very long while now!
Yeah stumble can send a good chunk of traffic. I like stumble for that reason.
I like the idea that you have the My Profiles tab in your sidebar to give people access to every website that you are on. Its a good way to get them to notice you and add you or favorite you on there.
Bookmarks are really handy, they have helped me alot.Specially with handling trafiic.

if you could probably also guide as how to add it to the theme? and if possible, what if someone wants to change the background of it? like placing a nice graphic behind that long bar, matching one’s wordpress theme..
