Affiliate Marketing Strategy (Kinda Tricky)
Top Affiliate Challenge is still going. All competitors are working hard (atleast I hope) and alot of them are not happy with this contest as well. So many things went wrong in this event. But I am not going to talk about those.
I would rather talk about a strategy being used by John Chow of giving away $25 VISA Cards to 20 readers who fullfill the offer.
Reader will spend $14.94 doing the offers and will get $25 back so they are in profit. But only the first 20 will get it. Now you don’t know which number you are technically, so there can be hundred people submitting at once and your turn can be lost.
No Catch in this technique as claimed by John, but the technique itself is tricky because you can potentially be losing money as well. Now I want to know how well does this work?
Do you consider it a spammy technique because alot of other sites use this technique on a much larger scale.

I noticed that as well. I think that people have to comment or email him and he looks at the timestamp but it still doesn’t make sense to me because some people could buy into it without realizing that they aren’t going to get the visa card after all. I’m still kind of unhappy about Ian Fernando getting publicity for a plug-in that is a replica of Comment Relish.
I think you get publicity like that if you are in John’s team. Anywayz people knew it is a replica and I am sure not very many will buy into that.
I would totally agree with Syed on this as i too feel like John is doing some tricky ways to make money off campaigns, may be he is of the view to use his blog’s traffic into quick bucks ???

Agre with you Syed. Somehow of late, anything that John is doing is going into my bad books! I’ve lost all the respect admiration for him.
Well he’s earned lots enough from his blog alone that it’s probably okay for him to “gamble” it off
For those who don’t know, those gift cards are used up already. They were empty cards that he used in a previous challenge to game Google and Yahoo and their new advertiser sign up bonuses.

The evil way of making money from your blog;so why is anyone suprise.To me the money is not much but i can only spend my money on a good cause like charity org.
Makes no difference. We kick John Chow off the show in today’s episode. Too much jacking around and not any kind of real performance from him.
His blog says it all. He is not going to teach anyone how to make money online. The title is
“I make money online by telling people how much he makes online”
I assume that people know that they may not be the first 20 to sign up.

It continuously amazes me how many people hate John, yet how his blog continues to increase in all areas!
I recently stopped reading his blog and yet keep hearing about him everywhere, no wonder his blog keeps on getting more popular!
