Balkhis Degrading to Wordpress 2.6.3
Ok, so I have posted a few times that I was actually beta testing wordpress 2.7 on Balkhis. I even posted a review a while back. Well since that point on, wordpress made some very good changes into the look which makes wordpress admin panel look like that you are using a mac. A lot of mac style graphics.
But that was not the reason why I switched back from wordpress 2.7 to wordpress 2.6.3. I actually switched because some parts were not working. One of them was scheduling a post. If you guys haven’t notice most of the time Balkhis post goes live on 7:30 a.m EST unless planned otherwise. Well I don’t really get up that time and hit the publish button. Scheduled posts feature lets me do it automatically. But for some reason it didn’t work in wordpress 2.7 Beta edition. I am sure it was a minor bug, but I couldn’t deal with it. But I said lets give them a day to fix it.
I tried again, and it wasn’t fixed. But the major downfall was that all of my affiliate links stopped working. Meaning WP-Affiliate was not working with the new version of Wordpress. Now I cannot afford to lose that. I am making most of my revenue from those affiliate links embedded into the posts. If that plugin does not work, I can’t make any money from this site.
That was the main reason why I decided to degrade balkhis from a beta wordpress version that is rich with a lot of other features to the most stable version wordpress 2.6.3.

Have you heard any final release day for 2.7?
It was suppose to be Nov. 10th but it is pushed back by two weeks just to make sure there are no bugs.
I remembered I once degrade one of my blog and everything turns out wrong and my blog was dead because i was simply messing up the files.
try not to degrade.
I am always in a rush to complete the upgrades also but I have started to realize that patience is sometimes better as I would rather have everything working rather than buggy…
I never update to the new version until it is completely tested and fault free, which saves me the hassles like you have
So I guess those emails I sent to you regarding your website acting weird was actually true LOL I see now everything seems to be working fine.
Sorry to hear that! Scheduling works fine on my blog, though. Were you using the latest beta? (Beta 2)

Upgrading before final versipn can always be dangerous. I don’t upgrade software especially Micrososft until the bugs are worked out. If it works don’t fix it. Even though I must admit that I get tempted to try new and supposed improved things.
It’s sad to hear that,Balkhis. But I ‘m sure that WP team will fix the bug soon. Anyway, I never used to try a beta version of any new upgrade og WP yet. Bit scared that it’d make my blog crashed down that I can’t fix it. Better to wait till the officially published.
I haven’t tried wp 2.7 beta yet but I used to stick with the tested versions until a new stable version is out.
I can’t live without scheduled posts so I’m happy that I don’t usually beta test wordpress. I have difficulties with early upgrade in past so I get my lesson.
