Bug Found in WordPress 2.5.1
Well, someone contact me via msn and told me that my Balkhis Contact form is not working. So I kinda got shocked because I was recieving emails from the contest. The person claimed that the security question is misspeled or something. Well anyways, I decided to head over the blog admin panel, to confirm.
Well I went to settings, and I see that there is no tab for the contact form. I got worried at first. I thought maybe the contact form doesn’t comply with this wordpress, but seconds later I rejected that thought because the contact form seem to be working fine. I head over to Uzzz Productions because it is also running on wordpress. I checked the contact form, and It was available there.
I came back to the Balkhis admin panel, and double checked everything and it didn’t work. Stupid thoughts were coming into my mind. Such as the plugin might not be activated, but then I would question myself how is it working if it is not activated. After a while I figured out a problem.
Curious to know?
Apparently I am using too many plugins, and the new wordpress admin panel design doesn’t have an option of going to the next line like the old one did. So alot of your plugins might not even be visible to you. It is not only in just one browser because I tested both IE 7.0 and FF (latest version). Also it is not just the wordpress default admin theme, the Fluency Theme by Dean Robinson also have the same issue.
Edit (June 22, 2008 22:23 EST) – Dean Robinson’s Fluency theme works fine. All you have to do is download the latest version of it. I didn’t know the latest version was out because it didn’t show in the admin panel that there is a new version for that plugin. Hopefully Dean you will add something that tells us users that like all other plugins do. (Now hopefully wordpress will get it fixed also)
I came to this conclusion because it was not available in Balkhis because Balkhis have alot more plugins, and It was visible in Uzzz. Also, when I copied the url and pasted it in Balkhis … The page was there and the plugin was working.
Hopefully this gets fixed.

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

Could you please email me a screenshot of the problem your describing, so that I can check it out and see if I can correct it.
email sent to your email in the comment. Also I have pointed out the problem that your theme doesn’t work in IE. If you can fix that I would love it. I like your theme, but I also like IE
(Yeah I am one of those people)
By the way Dean, YOUR THEMES and PLUGINS ROCK! I just thought I’d tell you that. I am currently working on creating a customized Redoable Theme for my blog so I I will link you in it when it goes live!
yes his work is nice. I visit his site often, and I have made some comments where I needed to.
Thanks Dean. the New version works. Let me edit the post.
Great to here!
Also worth mentioning that after I read your post I disabled Fluency to see how them menu looked, and mine does wrap over two lines, which is a bit odd. Either way I’m sure it will be fixed by the guys at WordPress soon enough.
Re. there being no message in the admin panel to update Flunecy thats because I’m not hosting my plugins in the WordPress SVN, and unfortunately only plugins hosted by WordPress will display those messages.
ah ok cool. I guess I will need to keep checking for updates there.
Hopefully wordpress fixes it also. Thanks for your support.
i still didn’t see where is the problem.
Check the links below
Here, Here and Here
the space in the menu bar runs out thats why it doesn’t show the page but when you type the url of the page it works.
I see what youre saying. Fluency Admin is just an upgraded look I believe. I wonder what WordPress will do to fix that error.
I wonder the same … Maybe Matt is reading this post lol because this problem is in both of the themes.
Your blog seems to be working fine in my browser (firefox 1.2).
It is not the front end. I am talking about the admin panel, and I hope you can’t see my admin panel
lol … thats good that its fixed now.
and share some important plugins to use for making our blog more better.
To many pluggins, interesting. I’m sure I’m far from having too many in my blog, but I could be useful for the future.
I hope wordpress team comes with an update soon.
