Google Adsense Referral Retiring - What the Heck?

Jul 1, 2008  Syed Balkhi  Webmaster World

Well recently, I was reading Google Adsense Blog in which I was surprised to read that they are retiring their referral program. Well they are not exactly retiring, but they are replacing it with Google Affiliate Network.

So starting August 1, they will discontinue the adsense referral program. I don’t know if they will stop the ongoing referrals which haven’t converted yet because I know I have some that are waiting for convert. Hopefully, they let those convert because I don’t want to loose any of those $100.

Also I don’t know whether Google Product Referral will continue with this new Affiliate Network. I made a good amount with the google products, so I wish that they continue that, but they didn’t mention anything on their blog.

I just wish that google gets better at explaining their breaking news a little better for webmasters like us. But such a big corporation, I guess they have communication problems. By the way I hate the new google favicon. Did anyone else noticed that? It is just plain UGLY (Just my opinion) Hopefully they’ll make it a little brighter.

Being that my adsense performance has been SLOWLY increasing, I am very upset about this change. Mainly because DoubleClick is so hard to satisfy when it comes to blogs. Google should have given us more notice.

Well, another bad change from Google. For Indonesian publisher, it had happened long time ago. So, no surprise for this time.

same applies for all publishers outside of the US and Japan. What was even more disgusting is that even if someone from the US signs up under your referral, you wouldn’t get paid for it just because you aren’t located in the US or Japan

I’m beginning to hate google!

I don’t think that google will ever get better at explaining themselves. We can only guess to the reasons.

I think the reasons are that they don’t want to reveal too much of corporate strategies … lol
