Networking at Izeafest 2008 – More pictures
One of the good thing these conferences are for is networking. Sure some of the sessions were good and inspiring, but most of it wasn’t entirely new. The main reason why so many people go there is to network, or better “socialize”. Now, if you didn’t know Izea was live online as well on UStream. People were viewing the conference, and making comments.
I am sure some of them were laughing because they get to see the whole thing, and not pay a damn thing. Personally, I think that they did miss a whole heck a lot because right now people who went there have pictures, and more contacts. At least, next time I see these people, they won’t think I am a complete stranger. I got to interact with one of the top bloggers in the industry. None of the people online could say that unless they actually go there.
Guys these conferences are worth going to because you socialize with people in your industry. And Networking is the key to success.
Having that said, lets look at some pictures of me networking..
First up is my picture with John Chow. I am actually a bit taller than him. Not a lot, but just a little bit
Caught John Chow unplugging another person’s plug because Izea didn’t have enough outlets there.
This is my picture with Zac Johnson. I was initially in his team for Izeafest, but I had to leave a bit early. But I did get a money reign shirt which you guys will see in the coming sunday
Here I am with the CEO of Izea. The company behind Izeafest. He doesn’t take serious pictures, unless there is a crazy one to go with it, so you will see the crazy one too. He picked up Ian, but I am too big lol.
Thats me with Merlin Mann. Author of 43folders.com. Heck of a good speaker. He is all for creativity (like me). Creative picture eh lol.
That is me with Ian Fernando. We hung out a lot. I actually took him along the Uzzz crew to a Pakistani food place in Orlando. He was confused there. We also had lunch together at Subway.
Now you know what you missed eh. Well there was a whole heck a lot more in sessions. I will share some of my insights on each session later on this week.

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

I could have picked you up…. ok I am totally lying. You are a big dude! Looks like you had a good time, thanks for coming
Yes it was a lot of fun. Next year, I wanna speak in the Blog Design Make over because I can totally kick ass lol.
Hey great pix there, thanks for sharing. And it seems like youre having a blast! Look forward to your updates.
Great pix, thanks for sharing; you seem to be having a blast. Look forward to the updates from you.
Just how tall are you? – Or is everyone else real short?
Congrats on picking up posting frequency as well – it’s great having new stuff all the time
I am 6 feet 4 inches tall.
Otooo I was just about to ask that question and while writing I read yours.
It really looks like it is a good place to get to know a lot of different bloggers. I think you’re better off now that you have made relationships. Those bloggers will now be more likely to link to you which can bring you a lot of traffic considering most of them have a buttload of subscribers.
I think when you have made relationships with different bloggers there is one thing that you should do: I think you should e-mail them your best content and nicely ask them to either link to it or just gave you a nice mention. Darren at problogger.net talks about asking other bloggers to link to you a lot. I think we can all trust that he knows what he’s talking about.
I think if they find something on my site, they will link to me. You have to understand that people are very busy, so another email in their list make me feel like I am spamming them because I get some of those too.
Hey Syed it looks like you had a blast! Wish I could have been there too.
In the first picture, I thought JohnChow is a short guy. But then I found that the others a lot more shorter.
Then I realize that, I didn’t know except from now on, you’re such a tall guy! Maybe the tallest blogger in the industry!
No, I do remember seeing people taller than me there.
I see..
Its really nice to see how fantastic your meeting was with other bloggers, especially with those who’s pictures are enclosed with the post.
I really like it, hope someday i will catch ya up
I’ll be looking forward for your upcoming posts which you were talking about at the end, this week.

Good stuff showing the power of real networking in action. I love this stuff, and I am sad I did not decide to hit this convention.
Seriously we need to see which conventions each are attending and network a bit I love meeting like minded bloggers.
And I am jealous you got to meet John Chow! Dang it!
Ben, I will definitely be at Izeafest again next year. Email me if you decide to attend any conference, and I will see if I can hit there.
This is the power of networking. Great pictures, thanks for sharing. Wish I could have been there too.
Great photos! Looks like you had a lot of fun. I am sure that the networking was priceless. Congrats
It indeed was priceless. It is a whole different thing when you see someone that you know online and that person is now standing in front of your eyes.
Seems like a great event to have been at. I wish I was closer to these events and actually had more time outside of classes and stuff to get to do these kinds of things. I can’t believe you took Ian to a Pakistani Fast Food Place. I didn’t know that there was actually Pakistani/Indian Fast Food!! Great pictures by the way.
haha yeah it was fun. He didn’t know what to expect there, but it was good. It was Balkhis dinner. So everyone got to eat for free…
Great stuff man, looks like a lot of fun. You seem like a tall dude! I’ve got to make it to something…I don’t care if it’s someone having lunch at their house lol.
I do believe live events are priceless for the networking and friends you make.
