Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

Thanks for letting us know the new features of the WP 2.6. I would like to know if there is any problem with the themes, I mean the themes that worked with 2.5.1 will work with 2.6. If you update your blog please let us know.
themes work fine … I don’t know if you guys remember the bug I pointed out in admin panel .. tht is still there.
I too noticed the plugins count problem in wp admin Syed.
I have 21 plugins active, but it shows as 11 active.. Weird!
It took me 2 months to finally be able to switch to 2.5!! lol.. so I hope this update doesn’t mess up the theme or anything but I have to say the features sound amazing. I guess what happened is people got used to the way things used to be with WordPress 2.3 and lower. Anyway, time to upgrade!
yup.. I already upgraded.
Same here! I just upgraded as well. Had to update database and one of my crucial plugins didnt work but aside from that, pretty fast!
Is there a widget to do this?
Nope just go through this guide – http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress
Thanks chetan for the reply. I couldn’t get to it as I am a bit sick.
Thank you Chetan.
Upgraded to 2.6 – only had one moment where I held my breath when it did not seem to want to let me login afterwards. Waited a few minutes and tried again and it all worked out.
yeah it did that to me too.
Thats looks fine, will be upgrading it..
But they have not changed the widget thing ? I like the previous version of widget settings.
Although it does have some new cool features, I think I will be waiting for a while before I update, just to make sure there are no bugs… and because I’m lazy.
Haha I think being lazy is the main reason
but its ok to wait..
