Wordpress making a big jump
Well as we know that Wordpress is the best blogging software on the World Wide Web (Hands Down). They are making a big update with the software pretty soon. Right now the current stable version of the software is 2.3.3, and the new version will be 2.5. Yes that is a big jump in the wordpress count because the last one before 2.3.3 was 2.3.2 and 2.3.1 so we can agree that there will be alot of updates. The beta version is out already and I am using it on Balkhis.
Well you don’t have to just wonder what it is going to be like because the people at wordpress has posted the Sneak Peak of 2.5. The new wordpress will have:
- New backend design.
- Faster load times.
- Multi-file uploads.
- New “Media Manager” for images, audio, video, etc.
- Built-in gallery function.
- Built-in (and pluggable) Gravatars support.
- One-click auto-update for plugins.
And much more…….
My favorite part about this new update is definately the one click auto-update for plugins. This will make my life so much easier rather than downloading / reuploading each plugin when the update comes out. Ofcourse aside from this the design is much better looking.
Here is a preview of the dashboard

Navigation looks pretty alive

Write a Post interface

Category interface is also much more friendly now

Another cool admin panel theme was announced called Fluency. This theme brings new look to wp admin panel. The main navigations are vertical whereas sub navs are horizontal. This black and whtie combination is just a beauty. Just to let you know that I started using this theme, and it didn’t work for me on Internet Explorer, but it did for FF

I have already put the latest Beta version for WP 2.5 on Balkhis. To tell you the truth I really really love the one click upgrade for plugins and the new look is a bit different, but it is cool. Though the wordpress logo in the footer is screwed up… ah I am just a designer so have to look at the design aspects.. For those who are interested you can get your own copy of the Beta Version.

Hey, I am Syed Balkhi, The guy who is behind Balkhis Inc. I entered the industry back in 2002 not knowing a single thing. I barely spoke English at that time. In the past six years, my language barrier has been eliminated. Aside from English, now I also speak html, and php. Along with the languages I have also managed to master a few arts. Art of web-designing started when I first entered. Messing around with photoshop, I learned how to create my first web design. Now I founded a web designing firm Uzzz Productions. After running numerous amount of websites in various niche, I have mastered the art of web-development. Now I am compiling a resource of what I already know, and what I am learning on this blog. This resource is to help me if I ever need a guide to look back to, and it is help my fellow webmasters.

We are creating a wordpress theme that can be downloaded by everyone. Not sure if it ever will but I really think that it will make our blog a lot more attractive.
yes ofcourse it will, I have multiple wordpress themes that can be downloaded by everyone as well. Good luck with your aventures.

Mine is running on 2.5 too. Has a few errors like top commentators widget has some problem. And also Im unable to upload images from my PC. Will wait for a stabler version.
Yes I noticed the Top Commentators problem on one of my test sites when I had done it but I think there will be a fix for it sometime soon.
Now it has become very easy to add tags. Thats the feature I loved the most. 2.5 has really taken a big leap!
yes 2.5 was a big jump by wordpress. I love the tags feature.
It is very useful for people who display a tag cloud and post entries under same tags. Say if a blogger has a total of 10 tags and files all posts under those only, you don’t have to remember the tags any more! But some people come up with new tags for every post! What good does that do to their sites?
I think even you have a lot of tags Syed.
Wow that looks pretty good. After seeing the official release of Wordpress Im a bit scared of losing my database by upgrading so Im still checking out my options sadly!
wordpress have been getting really good recognition, they really have made it big. The new versions specially, they are great.
